Sunday
Went out this morning planning to run / walk the same route as yesterday, just a bit faster. Mt legs ached a bit and it was windy again but i felt it was achievable.

I started by running and managed abot 9 minutes before my chest started to hurt, then i did 5 minutes alternative. My legs felt really heavy halfway and i thought i had blown it. But on the last leg i woke myself up and told myself to think more positive. My last burst was just that and i ended strong. I finished in 36 mins, 2 minutes better then yesterday.

It had been just like many races i've run. As soon as i begin to struggle i stop believing in myself. I must learn to get over this.Any way i was pleased how it ended even if though it took me 5 minutes to start breathing properly again

run 9 mins
walk 5 mins
run 5 mins
walk 5 mins
run 5.5 mins
walk 4 mins
run 2.5 mins Total walk 14 / run 22 mins Distance 3.4 miles

I hadn't done anything since tuesday and had felt quite sleepy.I was determined to get something out of the weekend so i got up today thinking about starting to run.
Though i felt very stiff and sure I had a cold on the way, it was also quite windy. I went out in the morning with the plan to do a walk and run. The wind made it hard but i kept to my planned route
I did 5 minute walk
5 run
5 walk
7 run
5 walk
5 run
4 walk
2 run

So i was out for 38 min 19 running 19 walking

Well the holiday of exercise kind of faded out a bit. I didn't sleep very well on Friday night an spent most of Saturday in a half awake state. So i decided not to push myself. Then Sunday i thought I had probably done enough and rested preparing myself for my return to work

Yesterday and this morning i got up and did a gym session before work, which i felt was a good start to the week.

I planned a rest day today and only did a small gym session in the morning. I took the rest of the day easy

Gym session in the morning, which was a bit of a struggle.

I left my walk to late in the afternoon. My legs felt a bit stiff but they soon got into it. I had a lovely walk along the river and felt good. 6.5 miles 1 hour 45 mins

Started the day with a gym session and then went for a walk. I took it at an easy pace as i didn't really feel like pushing it after yesterdays long walk. I did use the walk to check out my options for hill training when i start running. I walked about 5.4 miles in 1 hour 40 mins

I did another shorter gym session in the evening, push ups and weights.

Last night i started thinking about my plans for the running stage of my plan as March is approaching rapidly. I will never get significant endurance in my lregs in the time i have so i am going to concentrate on speed. Also familiarising my body to hill work, running down as well as up. The endurance bit will just have to come from inner strengh (and a bit of madness)

Valentines Day

A nice restful morning relaxing with Parallel Girl, then a nice little walk in the afternoon.

Well by that I mean a 4.5 mile walk, along a cycle path, to a nice little cafe in the country. A nice lunch and then the 4.5 miles back again. It was really enjoyable way to spend the afternoon.

Today was always going to be an easy day, and it was obvious as i walked into town, that it was a good idea.I had done a gym session in the morning and my legs were now feeling very heavy.

So i had an easy day, well if you call spending several hours taking off my shed door and re fitting it so it opens outwards. Not the most fun i have ever had but at least we can now fit both our bikes in the shed.

I ached more after that then i had after any of my exercise sessions

Well things are still going well. A bit later up today but had managed a home gym session by 11am. I'm now doing 25 sit ups and 25 forward weight lifts. Feel like i have more in me but i want to do it regularly rather the one off big sessions.

My walk at 1pm wasn't as nice as yesterday as it was raining for most of the time. For this reason my head was down for a lot of the time and i zipped along at a good pace. Did 6.4 miles in 1hour 45 mins.

Had to fit my second gym session at 7pm, a bit earlier then i'd have wanted, as we were going out for a drink. Just did weights and sit ups.

Feel like i had a very efficient day, i even put back up a curtain rail which i have been avoiding since it fell down last month. I also made an excel chart of all my previous times at the 'Tour', the races i am doing in Derbyshire in May.

Well day one of my holiday fitness regime has gone very well.Parallel girl had to leave early to day so i was ready for action by 9am

9.10am I did my usual home gym session

9.45am Out for a walk. I didn't go at a hard pace as i was more interested in a longer walk then a quick on. I headed out into the countryside, enjoying the views and the fresh air. I was out for 1 hour and 45 minutes and covered 6 miles. I was really pleased with myself, especially as it wasn't even midday by the time i got in.

Spent the afternoon watching rugby n television. France beating Ireland and England just beating Italy

8.30pm - did some more weights and sit ups

Not sure if i'll be able to keep this level of activity up for another 8 days but it was a good start
